Why no posts? Been extremely crazy over the last month. Back to normal now. Moved into a new house and I thought I would share a bit of my new world.
Fiber is awesome. It's the catalyst of the next wave of speed for the internet. The Bridgeland, the community that Tracy and I live in, is one of the first to have fiber ran directly to every house built. Fiber to the premises (FTTP) is a form of fiber-optic communication delivery in which an optical fiber is run directly onto the homeowners premises.
Below you will see a couple of pictures of the fiber that comes from my back yard into my ONT (Optical Network Terminal) box, which is located on the side of my house.
Fiber in my backyard.
Fiber going into the ONT.
Fiber close up.
Now I can finally go around and brag about my four letter Fiber acronym.
FTMP = Fiber to MY premises.
I will blog about AT&T UVerse soon. UVerse is the service that utilizes the fiber for my phone, TV, and internet. It's cool groundbreaking technology!
